Scene One - After being convinced by Iago, Cassio goes to ask Desdemona for assistance in getting his position back. Iago says he will help him by getting Othello out of the way. Scene Two - Othello sends a letter to Venice, and he asks Iago to see the fortifications with him. Scene Three - Iago begins to plant his suspicions. - Desdemona agrees to help Cassio, she would rather die than fail him. - Desdemona loses her handkerchief (a symbol of her and Othello's love), and Emilia takes it, and then gives it to Iago. - Iago plants the handkerchief in Cassio's chamber. - Othello vows to seek revenge, goes mad with jealousy, asks Iago to kill Cassio, then says he will kill Desdemona. Scene Four -Othello asks Desdemona to see her handkerchief, she just talks about Cassio (partly to change the subject, because he does not know she lost it). Othello storms out. -Cassio, who found the handkerchief in his chamber, asks Bianca, a prostitute, to copy it.
